MUSIC: Witzend Jan.17

Tonight is our first official show of the year. Though, we did play the Malibu Country Club for a private party last weekend, that was less of a "show" persay and more of an excuse to exchange acoustic tunes for free tacos and margaritas. Mmm. Tacos.

We are headed back into the Witzend, our favorite new venue of 2012. We started to grow out of Genghis Cohen, and I personally grew out of the Hollywood traffic commute. Witzend is just over a year old, and is shaping into an incredible bar and listening room. It is an incredible vibe with amazing sound and a super friendly staff. ( My personal favorite being the teddy-bear-ish door man Lawrence)

If you can make it, all of the info is on this little adorable flyer. If you can't make it, our next show is on February 6th and should be equally as fun. Keep up to date on the witzend site : (http://www.witzendlive.com/) for a calandar of shows. Our name pops up monthly.

MUSIC: Holiday Video, take 2

One of my other joys this year with new-songs was re-vamping our rendition of " Have Yourself  a Merry Little Christmas. Scott and I first put out a video for our cover of the holiday favorite in 2010.
We threw it together recorded through a Blue Snowflake USB microphone and I put it into Garage Band, then iMovie. We thought we were so advanced...

This year, we had Just Another Production, Productions company help us put it together. Filmed by the director from our music video Christian Moldes, with the accompniment of our friend Anna Occonnell, a very gifted harpist - we came out with something this year we were much more proud of.

It is hard for us to be serious when filming anything. But this is what we got out of two live takes.

I do hope you had an incredible Christmas, and holiday season. With Scott in Montana, and myself in Iceland- it was hard to believe this was our THIRD christmas as " Me & Mr. Cassidy"

MUSIC: "Able to Find You"

One of the most exciting things to happen this year, was Scott and I creating a new batch of songs, and recording them with Ryan Dilmore. Ryan has been playing with MAMC since we were about 6 months old as a band- in the summer of 2011. His contributions musically are so unbelievable and we feel so spoiled to have him as a producer, and performing band member.

Our new CD was a huge departure from our first album MAMC, VOL.1  . We began to mature as individual song-writers as well as develop a fuller sound as a band. We began to anticipate each other, harmonizing more naturally - and continuing to create music that we ourselves would want to listen to which was one of our biggest priorities all along.

We put together 6 songs we were pretty excited about to created an Extended Play CD. ( EP) We have gone back and fourth in deciding if we wanted to do a digital only release or not, and while I don't think we are concrete in our decision it looks more likely that will be the case.

This tune, is one of my personal favorites. We both get so connected with it while performing it. We threw together a simple in-studio video while recording it. Ryan plays on the track as well as our friend Heidi on Violin.

Enjoy.

PERSONAL: After a year of silence.

It's been one year since I have blogged on here.

Oops.

during said year i spent my time adventuring. To europe. jumping out of planes. crafting with two little twins. etc.  I suppose instagram served me as a mini-quick- photo-DIY-music blog. But one of my 2013 goals is to get back on here and vary my content beyond music. For those of you I am welcoming back. I am glad you are still here.  How was your 2012? I may post some retroactive posts from this year...

I am looking forward to 2013, here.

happy H O L I D A Y S

The spare R O O M

We are BEYOND excited to be playing a free holiday show at my VERY FAVORITE night spot in Hollywood :

***** The Roosevelt Hotel's Spare Room Club. ****

We will be the only live band that evening, mixed in with a DJ. We will play a set earlier in the night for your early morning wakers, and a later set for you evening owls. There is a classic double bowling lane- fit with a man in suspenders to keep your score on an antique chalk board. As well as an array of classic board games, a bar, and a dance floor. The perfect set up for an evening of smiles.

The Spare Room , a new cocktail lounge and gaming room on the Hollywood scene, is reminiscent of a hidden club during the prohibition era with martini servers in flapper dresses and hidden doorways to photo booths and more...

If you have never been.... google it. You'll get a taste for why I love it, so!

Join us on Thursday December 15th for what i can guarantee will be a delight. Our folky love songs and classic holiday tunes will get your toes a tappin'

We are excited to share, that Ryan Dilmore will be sharing the stage with us that evening as well. helping us to make our music all the more special for you!
