Shout Outs:
I have some reccomnedations for you to check out some friends of mine who are inspiring to me, and I am sure you would all love as well.
First is Justin Huey, whom you heard me speak of a lot when I was studio blogging.
Justin is a producer and sound engineer, a great one, and you can click here to see his page and contact for that. Justin runs the Bear Cave studios out of Matthews N.C. when he is not on tour.
Secondly, Justin is in the band Steel Train. Their music is available on itunes ( I recommend the song " I feel weird" , it plays on the background of this blog), and you can see them around the country all spring touring with Tegan and Sara. ( You might have also caught them on the Conan Obrien Show!!) They are a lot of fun to see live, and I've only ever seen them in a small venue so I can't wait until they come to the Warner Theatre in DC this spring. [ get your tickets soon ]
You might recognize Jack from Steel train as also being from [ fun. ] their music is truely intoxicating.
Coincidently, Justin's girlfriend the lovely Emily Anne Moore is also in fun. Emily's music is always charming. I recorded a song with her back when I was 15, and am very lucky to have her lend her voice to my recent album as well.
If so far you've loved Justin and Emily... You will REALLY love their duet project "Seahorses" . Seahorses recently did a limited press edition of their EP, and the first time I played it in my car, I almost wrecked i was dancing so much.

Then there is the Holy Ghost Tent Revival. I've seen these boys play in BookStores, West Virginia cofee houses and even a duck pin bowling alley. They are some of the most talented Charming boys I know. Their music has a twist of the Avett Brothers, and with an old school feel, they still catch the eye of a very young and energetic audience. Be prepared to dance & Fall in love with life {and then} ...
On the other side of the country is group of boys that will also make you want to dance [ although they hail from Ithaca] . but trade in the banjo for a ukelele, and the mountain boots for flip flops. ( or no shoes at all) The MakePeaceBrothers. I first opened for them this spring after a fun filled weekend with them and my good buddy Justin Kredible ( the magician). The boys and justin gained a huge chunk of their following last year when they toured with Jason Mraz in the music magic and makepeace tour. They are kind, loving, fun boys who will share with you their opinions on the world and their smiles all in show. They WILL charm your socks off. If you're east coast.... I dare you to see em.
[The Make Peace Brothers]
This is my favorite song of theirs, Lonely Days.
And yes they are really brothers. and yes their last name is makepeace. think jonas brothers.... haha or not.
I have tons and tons and tons of talented friends... Be sure to check back regularly, I think shout outs will be a regular addition to my blog!
