seed the S O U N D : sundays

Phillip Noss

Finally - Bloombars got to meet Me & Mr.Cassidy. Bloombars has helped and watched me grow through the last ( almost) three years. Which is incredible. Boy if those walls could talk they would tell quite embarrassing tales of me n my guitar. It was a very rainy and cold evening, which of course threw us california kids for a rutt, but we were so happy to see SO MANY beautiful and familiar faces as well as new ones that heard we was a comin' !

Also, the always wonderful Phillip Noss played before us coming in all the way from Boston. He certainly gained a handfull or two of new fans - including my mom ;)

This was the first time that we ever played all 12 songs from the album all the way through ( not even in practice!) and especially the first time that we ever did in front of an audience, some of them on their feet in front of ears for the firs time. It was important to me to feel the journey that the characters go on from beginning to end for the first time, and by the end, It was hard to keep from crying.

A huge thank you to all of our friends and family for coming out. This was actually the biggest audience we have ever had just for us before, which was incredible since it was our first show together outside of California! We are so happy to have fans on both coasts, and we promise to come back as often as possible!

It was especially special to have Joan & Terrence Limos in the audience who we wrote " the wedding song " for originally, since this was the first time I have been able to sing for them since their wedding last September.

Over all it was such a beautiful night, we got to stay after and have a chat with Terrence Cunninghman and John Chambers, both whose opinions i respect, which was wonderful and put some beautiful insight into our minds.

see you soon, bloombars!

back at: B L O O M B A R S

WE BLOOM , YOU BLOOM

{ a posting about my show on Bloom's site }

I am so lucky as a musician to have a venue that feels like a home away from home to me. I am able to try out new material, gather friends, and share my music with comfort and confidence to a friendly crowd of faces at Bloombars in Columbia Heights, washington D.c.

I was first brought to Bloombars by The MakePeace Brothers { whose new album was just released, check it out!} 2 years ago. Since then Bloombars has blossomed into such a wonderful art space and community outreach project and I too have blossomed! As I performed more and more I eventually became an official " Bloombars ambassador" . At any given night you can walk into Bloom and recieve classes in yoga, belly dancing, tap dance, you can stumble upon independant film releases, or performances from artists like Justin Kredible, Kevin Sandbloom, Terrence cunningham or Grammy Nominees Christylz Bacon and Carolyn Malachi. It is a tiny slice of heaven on earth!
{ little cell phone pic i stole from twitter, taken by ica }

In coming home to washington for the holidays, I was booked to perform my first show at bloombars 100% solo! To be honest, I was a bit nervous since I have been performing with Scott so much, It was intimidating to perform an entire set solo. I went back to some of the songs from my first album " Hey mom! look what i can do!" and a couple of old covers I use to rock out to.

{ a shout out from FreeinDcBlog about My show? cool! }

But my friends & family & the whole BloomCrew came out in full force to support and the night went beautifully , even John { the owner of Bloom's } Mom! What an honor! - If you weren't able to make it this time, i send a huge sad face your way. we had a ton of fun - and a HUGE thank you to those who were able to make it! you warmed this little kitten's heart! <3>

another B L O O M

Myself, Kierninan Mcmullan and Terrence Cunningham jamming out un-rehearsed at BloomBars Sunday!

What I love about Bloombars is the energy. it sounds corny. But everyone who graces that stage is filled with such beautiful talent it is truely overwheming. It is a tradition on Bloom sundays as well that everyone who is an artist gets on stage together and plays a song none of them have ever played together and just let it flow, and i can tell you that is one of the more terrifying expieriences but somehow it always turns out perfectly. In a way you couldnt have possibly rehearsed to be better.

On this particular Sunday, Keirnan Mcmullen, a singer from Ireland was blowing our minds. I have never been more in awe of a live performance, Terrence and I ( whom I am always constantly in awe of) looked at each other a few times through the night and almost laughed, in some ways it was just crazy to see talent like that.

Kiernan uses a loop and by the end of some songs it sounds like a whole orchestra is on stage, it's incredible.

Enjoy this little song. AND as always, check out Bloombars on sundays
