Today is the fun day. We made a mock track list, and are going through each song and playing this game called "wouldn't this song be better if we added_____[fill in the blank______"
Of course, some songs are staying totally stripped down (i.e. guitar and voice or piano and voice, etc)
but some songs (like, as you can imagine the pancake song) have everything from
- Lots of awesome vocals lol,
- harmony vocals, boys and girls!
- Acoustic guitar
- Electric guitar
- drums
- bass
- Ukelele
- Kazoo
- Whistles
- glockenspiel
- snaps ( doing 8 takes of snaps is retarted on your hands)
- Snare (seperate from drum set)
- egg shaker ( and sprinkles?)
- strings ( cello and violen esque, not sure where we are going with this though)
- organ-esque keys.
- then of course a fair share of old school claps and stomps...
- sleigh bells
- Piano ( Rhodes)
- and more to come, more to come....
And yes, the "Pancake Song" will have a real song title by the time this album is made. Today is kind of a slow day. Reason and Pro tools are not quite getting along and at one point out of nowhere, dropped the midi 6 octaves, and what used to sound like a pretty piano line now sounded like a dark rumble in a monsters stomach. Jesse from Harvard and Emily from Seahorses came over, and we took a break for Grilled Cheese mmm. This is especially nice since it is freezing rain outside.
On a very sad note, I broke the zipper on my courderoys. I am very sad, and embaressed because for the rest of the day my fly is down.
